History

The site was launched in august 2006 after its owner, Kenneth Eggan wanted to make a freeware review site that wasn’t bloated with ads.

He wanted to provide his readers the best freeware that didn’t come with lots of adware as he knew that most commercial software has got a free alternative.

The site has recently got a new design and is aiming to be updated daily. This is done by hiring a high quality software reviewer from the UK in addition to Kenneth’s contributions.

Technical info

The site was in the beginning  using Joomla, then moved over to Drupal. Today the site is served using  Wordpress as CMS with several plugins.  It’s hosted in Dallas, Texas by Noyos.no.
