The only notable part of the jv16 setup is that it requires you to enter a valid email in order to download the program, promising not to sell this on to other companies. After installation is complete, a tutorial wizard will talk you through setting some of the more important options for the program such as auto-updating and the setting level of help it will give you. This works very well and explains many of the programs core abilities without confusing newcomers or annoying people who are already technically proficient. The program installs to around 9 MB, small enough to keep on your system until you need it.

Ease of Use

Jv16 can perform a variety of different maintenance tasks. Some are expanded / edited versions of tasks you can already do in windows such as uninstalling programs and changing start-up applications. Others are slightly more exclusive and include a registry cleaner and privacy tools. In our tests all of the tools which mimicked Windows programs were faster and gave more information than their Windows counterparts.

From the start, it’s really no surprise that Jv16 used to be commercial software – its polish is obvious both in terms of its accessible design and intelligent interface. We were able to navigate through the various tools with ease and although most of them seemed to employ a great deal of common sense they still had little guides explaining what each module did and how it would affect your computer.

The program has a wide variety of settings so it can be geared towards more technical users if required. Whatever your technical ability, when it comes to computers Jv16 could well provide useful information and maintenance services especially in the area of the registry cleaning, where it specialises.

System cleaner offers quick installation and offers both 32 and 64 bit varieties. It runs on all modern versions of Windows although it’s currently not compatible with Windows 7.

Ease of Use

Comodo System Cleaner allows you to run regular, quick maintenance on parts of your computer that would otherwise take a very long time. What we think so far:

The list is long, but running CCleaner doesn’t take a lot of time. We have also experienced that we got more disc space to play with after deleting lots of temp files, if you have used your computer for
some time it isn’t unusual that CCleaner would delete several
gigabytes of crap. Remember to defrag your hard drive if this happens to you!
The registry cleaning:

Our Conclusion:

We have been using CCleaner for several months now, and we think that CCleaner is getting better and better by every program update. Did we mention that CCleaner got a auto update function? There is a new CCleaner release every month so remember to update CCleaner!
Cleaner is fast in use as long as you choose just to delete files, but if you choose the safe file deletion it takes much longer time, but this is normal as the files are overwritten several times. For normal users we would recommend just using the normal deletions method, but if you want your temp files to really be deleted, then go ahead, use the secure file deletion.
The registry cleaner part of CCleaner is not the best registry cleaner out there, but it’s good enough for a normal Windows user. Remember that this piece of software is free! Available in 35 different languages.

Whats the difference between CCleaner and CCleaner Portable?

CCleaner portable is not dependent on regsvr32.exe or regedit.exe as the normal version of CCleaner is.

You can save your CCleaner settings in a INI file called ccleaner.ini. This file is created the first time you run Portable CCleaner. This makes it possible to customize what CCleaner Portable should clean.
