I’ve used CCleaner for years and love it. They have NEVER charged for the software, so some of you knuckleheads have obviously downloaded the wrong software. The link that Kenneth offered above is the one that I use. I plan on adding links to their website and possibly this one on my own Computer Repair website http://LazarusComputerRepair.com/

I want to add a tips and tricks section and possible start doing some reviews. CCleaner is awesome! just make sure you look on the top right side for download link. That’s the free one. Good Luck ;-D

CCleaner is definitely as effective with Windows 7 as it has been with Windows XP. Just give it a try!

@phillip: Read it more closelt, they offer you to pay for support, CCleaner itself is free.

As far as I know CCleaner deletes all cookies, but you have the option to not clear cookies for services like Gmail and Yahoo Mail.

What cookies for Google and Yahoo are not cleaned by CCleaner? Can I opt to delete them anyway? What are these cookies for?

After going to the download page, on the right is the CCleaner download. On the left is another download button, that is for Registry Mechanic. Registry Mechanic will prompt for you to purchase if you run it and tell it to fix what it found, CCleaner doesn’t.

Edit: Are you sure you have downloaded the CCLeaner? Sounds more like you have clicked an ad and downloaded it from another place.

umm yes kenneth they do ask you to pay. i downloaded the exact one that your link “download ccleaner” takes me to and after scanning you have to press “fix now” and then you have to “register” and pay.

what up? that doesnt sound free to me.

If this is freeware, why do they do the scan then ask if you want to fix it. Then they ask you to pay for it.

You could for example try http://software-today.com/comodo-system-cleaner-review in combination with CCleaner. Should be a good combination
